Weights Check

Your weighting, recorded rather than remembered

A diver's ballast is not one number. It moves with the water, the suit, the cylinders and the years — and most of us carry it in our heads, or work it out again badly at the start of every trip.

Weights Check is the record that replaces the memory. What you wore, in what water, how much lead and where it sat, and how it actually went. The next dive starts from what you wrote down.

What it does

Estimates are labelled as estimates

A figure the app estimated says so on the screen, and prints a range rather than a single number. Record a check and the range narrows, because the app now has your own measurement to work from instead of a table. Where it cannot answer at all — a stage the anchoring check did not carry, a change of water before it knows your weight — it refuses and says why, rather than answering with a caution attached.

What it does not do

No account. No ads. No analytics. No network access at all — everything stays on your phone.

It does not pass judgement on a rig. Above a threshold you can change it warns you; below it, you get the number, plus or minus, and nothing else. No screen in this app tells you a rig is right, and none ever will.

It does not replace the check you do in the water, your computer, or your training. It keeps the record and does the arithmetic on it.

No liability is accepted for any dive.
