Weights Check — diver weighting library
Last updated: 3 September 2026
Weights Check collects nothing. This document exists because Apple requires every app to have one (App Store Review Guideline 5.1.1(i)), not because there is much to disclose.
What is collected
Nothing. There is no account, no sign-in, no analytics, no advertising, no crash reporting and no third-party code of any kind in this app.
Network access
The app makes no network requests. It contains no networking code at all. Nothing you enter can leave your device, because there is no mechanism by which it could.
What is stored, and where
- Your equipment library — the cylinders, suits, regulators, wings and stages you have entered, with the names, masses and notes you gave them.
- Your configurations — the rigs you have built from that library, the lead fitted to each and where it sits, the water they are for, and your warning threshold.
- Your recorded weight checks — the date, the water, the rig, the pressure you had left, the lead you carried and whatever you wrote about how it went.
- Your deleted items — gear and configurations you remove wait in a trash bin on the phone, so a deletion can be undone before the app clears them.
- Your settings — units, and the body figures you chose to give: your weight, and optionally height, sex and age. These are used only to work out a starting estimate and to carry a recorded check into different water. They are never printed back at you and never leave the phone.
All of it is written inside the app's own storage on your iPhone. It is included in your device backup, so restoring a new phone brings it back. If you back your phone up to iCloud, Apple's backup includes it — that is between you and Apple, and it is how your data follows you to a new device.
Deleting it
Anything you delete in the app waits in Settings › Recently deleted until you clear it out yourself. Nothing empties itself on a timer: restore an item from there, delete one for good, or empty the whole section in one action. Deleting the app removes everything it stored with it. The one copy that outlives that is the one inside your own device backup: it is Apple's, held under your account, and deleting the app does not reach into it. Nothing is ever sent to us either way, because there is no "us" to send it to.
Children
The app is a dive record-keeping tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
Changes
If this policy ever changes, the updated version appears here with a new date. Since the app collects nothing, any change is likely to be a clarification rather than a new disclosure.
